FAQ

Which translation provider does this tool use?

SentryPDF uses the DeepL API to power all translations. DeepL is widely regarded for producing fluent, natural-sounding output across supported language pairs.

Which languages are supported?

All languages currently available in the DeepL API are supported, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Japanese, Chinese (simplified), and many more. The language selector in the tool shows the current list.

Does translation preserve the original layout?

For PDF files, text is extracted and translated, then the translated text is delivered as a formatted text document. Complex multi-column layouts may not be reproduced exactly. For Word/DOCX files, formatting is generally preserved.

Can the tool auto-detect the source language?

Yes. If you leave the source language as "Auto-detect", DeepL will identify the language automatically before translating. Manual selection can improve accuracy for short or ambiguous texts.

Are there file size limits for translation?

Yes. Files up to 10 MB are accepted. For larger documents, split the PDF first and translate each part, then merge the results.
